Gibson Johnny A. Signature
One of the most innovative guitars Gibson has created in the last few years, the Johnny A. Signature. This is the Stoptail version, with a spectacular ebony fretboard, AAA maple top and hollow carved (one-piece!) mahonay back and sides!
Sold
The Johnny A. is a truly revolutionary move by Gibson. The guitar has received wonderful reviews worldwide, and users hardly let these ever go in the aftermarket. It combines the looks of an SG and a 335 (though the body is sized like a 339). The back and the sides are one-piece mahogany carved. Beautiful. The top is a top-grade AAA flamed maple (check the pictures!). The ebony fretboard, black/white binding and gold hardware all add up to a great guitar.
The small headstock (Les Paul Standard-sized, but with binding), very well proportioned with the rest of the guitar, has an elegant flower inlay and a signature-engraved trussrod cover. The knobs and selector switch are just like those of a Historic R9.
The pickguard has a very modern look, too, very different from any other Gibson's. The guitar is very lightweight, only 6 lbs 5.52 oz (2878 gr)!! The neck profile is similar to a Slim Taper, but not too thin.
Very comfortable to play, exceptionally versatile, but superior when it comes to cleans (where you can really notice the body's rich resonance). Adaptable to blues, rock, jazz and country music... anytime. It has a pair of '57 Classics and a ABR-1 bridge.
In this case, it is a Stoptail version (no Bisgby), so there's no tremolo system, but it does gain tuning stability compared to the Bigsby version (which was the only serious complain it had).
The Johnny A. guitar is built in Nashville (not Memphis, where more systematic production takes place), where all Historics and superior Gibsons are made. It is a very limited guitar (usually available on order).
The guitar is in a practically "like-new" condition. No dings, scratches, chips, repairs... Frets at 100%. It is clearly an under-the-bed article right there. Includes Custom Shop OHSC, COA, cable and rest of case candy.
A great chance to get your hands on a very exclusive guitar, hard to get (orders usually take over 6 months), specially in this condition for a pre-owned item. This is not just a showcase guitar, but any player's delight.
