Gibson 2012 Les Paul 1958 VOS - Lemon Burst
In a pretty rare color and an amazing plaintop, this R8 thrills at sight. The VOS finish (specially well done here) helps it look like an original '58 much better. A very special guitar.
Sold
After the ’50s Les Paul craze back in the ‘80s and ‘90s thanks to guitarists like Clapton, today it’s practically impossible to get an original 1958 Les Paul Standard (less even a ’59) without talking $200+k and up. Thanks to the Reissue Series, we can have an exact copy with a very similar sound for a fraction of what an original would cost. The reissue has a great level of detail when compared to the classic: carved maple top, ‘50s round neck, VOS finish and Burstbucker pickups are among its main features. The VOS finish is a “sort” of relic process (more noticeable on metal parts) that gives the impression of a fifty-year natural aging. The finish has a patina that dulls out the glossy shine a little bit. Quite nice. And it is especially well executed in this guitar.
Ultimately, this R8 has a charm that’s a little hard to explain... It radiates a sort of “magic” that most lack. It may sound a little corny, but whether it’s the finish, the color, the top... it is true.
In a mint condition (we can’t explain how this one is so new), with its brown OHSC, Certificate of Authenticity and case candy.
