Super clean for its age! Has all typical late-59 features:
- 3-tone sunburst with the red fading to almost a 2-tone (red very visible under the pickguard)
- First year rosewood board with clay dots, no date stamp (like all 59 rosewood necks I’ve seen, the rare thing would be for it to actually have a date).
- Body is pencil-dated 10/59 (in the tremolo cavity)
- 11-screw mint-green pickguard & shoulder on control cavity. Some shrinking, obviously.
Very lightweight (3213gr), incredibly resonant.
Guitar is all original except for a replaced tone pot (mid), and a 5-way switch was fitted at some time (3-way switch is back on). There are some marker touchups on a couple dings, I guess they can be polished off. Original finish, no oversprays or anything of the sort. It also has a perfect refret (superb job).
Anyway, there it is, a lovely example. Includes later Fender case. Oh, it does include the original tremolo arm.
