Seriously. If you don’t love the sound of it, we’ll happily take it back, no questions asked. This is one of the best sounding ES guitars we’ve ever tried. I guess the factory mono configuration has something to do with the huge tonal range of those wonderful PAT NO pickups.
These guitars are VERY rare in factory mono. You can find stereo versions ocassionally, but not mono versions. Also, due to the lack of popularity for the stereo config & the way it affects tone, mono versions are the ones to have if you can find one. Sure, you can convert your stereo to mono but that will affect originality one way or the other, wouldn’t it? :)
Guitar is entirely original (the bridge was replaced for a TonePros but the factory gold ABR-1 with PAT Number and foundry is included). The ebony board adds to the amazing resonance of this tone machine. Some guitars have the magic, others don’t. But such a small number of them do, so we’re happy to offer this well-sounding instrument.
The condition is insane for a guitar this age. It has checked beautifully, but is so well taken care of. It still has the original frets (all nibs are very visible) and plays wonderfully. The back of the neck is really cool, featuring a flamed pattern, which is unusual.
As an interesting side note, it includes an original Gibson catalog from 1966, with all the prices and everything. Cherry configurations had a $20 markup over standard sunburst finishes. I had no clue about that, to be honest!
Includes OHSC with yellow interior and Lifton badge.
