Fender '59 Bassman LTD
The Fender ’59 Bassman was created originally in the ‘50s as a bass amp. This “LTD” version is a big improvement over Fender's previous reissue. It has a lot of cleans before reaching its "breaking point", but there's also a workaround to that!
The Fender ’59 Bassman was created originally in the ‘50s as a bass amp, hence its name. This “LTD” (lacquered tweed) version is a big improvement over the previous Fender reissue of the Bassman (rectifier valve, 4 x 10’’ Jensen, pinewood cabinet...). It has great cleans, and if you want to reach the “breaking point” to get those overdriven tones, you’ll really have to crank it (and wear earplugs). The good thing is that there are various valve combinations you can try to get around this if you want. You can reach the “braking point” much sooner by switching a preamp valve for a 12AY7 (which is what the original ’59 actually had). For a vintage sound you can try a 5751 or an ECC83/12AX7 for darker tones. There are many possibilities.
It is in mint condition. Includes original cover.
