A true legend, the L-5 CES -Wes Montgomery version in this case- not only started an era, but is still regarded as a reference in today's archtop guitar world. No doubt a Holy Grail that has inspired geniuses like John D'Angelico himself, among others.

It's 17'' body has a beautiful carved spruce top, carved flamed maple sides, back and neck. Ebony fretboard and an overall amazing detailed construction, as you would expect in any guitar of this category.

The acoustic sound in this guitar is extremely rich, very harmonic, deep, with a forever-lasting sustain and a very warm tone that will delight any jazzmen out there. It has a single 57 Classic humbucker in the neck position, which defines the "Wes Montgomery" version of the L-5 CES.

The L-5 is a guitar for demanding musicians... but it is demanding itself, too. Not a very forgiving guitar! It has so much clarity, it became the favorite choice of many great musicians who were looking for just that (obviously Wes Montgomery was the greatest of them). The volume and tone knobs require some adjustment: the "all open" option just won't cut it in this case. The pots are very sensitive but demand some attention in order to give you that nice warm clean tone you've been looking for.

It is in amazing condition, the previous owner used a cloth to protect the back when playing, so you can get an idea of how clean it is! It has NO dings. There is one checking sign in the binding, that's it. There is some playwear in frets 5-9 but only in the 3 treble strings, and they still has a LOT of life left anyway, but we like to mention everything we can.
